Background
Foremost Security is an East-Midlands-based security company that started out in 2010. With over a decade of experience, Foremost offers a wide range of security services, including man guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding, alarm response, vacant property inspections and CCTV towers. The company employs over 100 staff members with a mixture of full-time and part-time employees.
The Challenge
Before PARiM, Foremost Security was already using a dedicated workforce management software but wasn’t completely happy with the pricing and user experience. “It was a very old-fashioned system that would sometimes stall. When refreshed, some of the input schedules weren’t there anymore,” said Foremost Security’s Operations and Accounts Director, James Vincent. Additionally, there were some crucial features missing, such as employee self-scheduling by publishing open shifts.
The Solution
After switching workforce management to PARiM, Foremost has been happy with the user experience and simplicity. The company now schedules its employees with a mixture of allocated shifts and open shifts. James told us: “With PARiM, scheduling is so much simpler and we can be confident that everybody has the right information about shifts at all times. In addition to shift allocation, we now let staff apply to open shifts for quick self-scheduling.”
“With PARiM, scheduling is so much simpler. We now do a mixture of shift allocation and self-scheduling.”
Foremost also solved another security industry challenge with PARiM: ensuring lone worker safety. “Our guards get automated notifications to their PARiM app for their check calls which is great for managing a large number of security employees working lone shifts.” Additionally, PARiM serves Foremost Security also as a database of records and company policies. James elaborated on this: “We can notify everyone when we’ve changed company policies. And we can use this as evidence when we get the annual audit from the Security Industries Authority.”
