The National Business Crime Solution is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the police and the business community to deliver the most collaborative and trusted preventative intelligence network in the UK.
By gathering and sharing information across both the private and public sectors the NBCS is able to prevent and detect emerging issues caused by prolific and persistent offenders.
Since launch in 2012 the NBCS work has led to hundreds of convictions, decades of sentences handed down and the breaking up of criminal teams that were costing businesses tens of thousands of pounds.
Data sharing is just the start, however. NBCS analyses this data which results in workable intelligence. The intelligence is shared via alerts and reports with members and used when working in coordination with the police or the public. The data is also used to lobby the government in an evidencebased manner.
As NBCS serves large national retailers with a small, agile team there is a strong need to be as effective and process-driven as possible.
